ShipX is built around a hierarchical structure with Bookings at its core, which are further broken down into Jobs, Trips, and Legs to manage every aspect of transport and logistics effectively.
Booking: A Booking represents the initial customer entry and typically pertains to a single billing customer. It acts as the starting point for all subsequent operations within the system.
Job: Each Booking is divided into one or more Jobs. A Job is a billing unit, often representing a specific entity such as a container or cargo unit. Jobs capture the details required for accurate billing and execution.
Trip: Every Job consists of one or more Trips. A Trip defines a required movement from one location to another. For example:
- In haulage, this could include a Delivery and a Collection.
- In forwarding, it might include stages such as Shipper to Port, Port to Port, and Port to Consignee.
Leg: Trips are further broken down into multiple Legs. A Leg represents an individual stage within a Trip, such as movements between intermediate points or staging locations. Each Leg is tracked with precise timings to ensure detailed monitoring and performance analysis.
By structuring operations into these interconnected components, ShipX provides a clear and comprehensive framework for managing transport and logistics workflows.
